Psalm 116:16 O LORD, truly I am your your servant;...You have freed me from my chains.
As I was thinking about this verse I started to think about the movies where you see this acted out. Like in the movie The Count of Monte Cristo when the main character finds himself in the midst a band of thieves and the leader tells him that the way he can keep his life is by fighting and killing one of there members that they had tied up and blind folded and were planning on killing him for wrong he had done. So during the fight the main character wins the fight and is in position for the kill but decides to spare him. And the man he spared tells him he is now his servant.
Three verses before, the psalmist says "I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD".(vs 13) My study bible says this of this verse- During Hebrew religious ceremonies, a cup of wine was lift to God as expression of thanksgiving. The writer celebrates God's goodness in saving him and publicly acknowledges his gratitude. -The Quest Study Bible
LORD you have freed me from my chains and I will lift up the cup of salvation and truly be your servant who calls on the name of the LORD. How I desire for this to be ingrained in my heart and overflow to my life. And be an ingredient to joy of my salvation.
